Author Visits
Christian Schools
Jasper author visits are designed to be interactive, encouraging, and age-appropriate for elementary students. During our time together, I read Jasper’s story using an animated copy of the book (if AV equipment or smartboard is available), talk about how a book is created from idea to shelf, and invite students into the creative process. Jasper’s stories naturally open the door to conversations about loving our neighbors, celebrating how uniquely we are made by God, and using our gifts to serve others. I aim to create a visit that feels joyful, meaningful, and encouraging for both students and teachers. We laugh, we imagine, and we talk about what it means to treat others with kindness and use our creativity for good.
My goal is always the same: to leave students feeling excited about books, inspired to create, and encouraged to care for one another.
Perfect for grades Pre-K through 5th, this visit blends storytelling, imagination, and meaningful character conversations in a way students remember long after the day is over.
What Students Experience
During a visit, students will enjoy:
An engaging read-aloud of Jasper Meets Sparkle
A behind-the-scenes look at how books are written and illustrated (if age appropriate for 4-5th graders)
A complimentary signed copy of the book for your school library
Conversation about moving to a new place, meeting new friends, and shining your light
An interactive Q&A where students can ask about writing, publishing, and meet Jasper George
Pre-order flyer and QR code sent home ahead of the visit for parents to pre-purchase the book
Signed books available for purchase for students (Rebecca will bring a limited number in addition to what has been pre-sold)
Teacher activity sheets and extension resources to continue the learning after the visit
Each visit can be tailored to your school’s needs!
About the Author
Rebecca George is an author, speaker, and the real-life best friend of a curious pup named Jasper. Together, they spend their days exploring the beauty of East Tennessee as they chase sunlight, spot butterflies, and find stories worth telling.
Rebecca is also the host of the Radical Radiance podcast, where she encourages women around the world to live with purpose and shine their light in all they do. Through her books, speaking, and creative work, she is passionate about helping people take their next step with courage and live with purpose right where they are.
Jasper Meets Sparkle is inspired by Rebecca’s love of the Smoky Mountains and the adventure waiting just outside your back door. She hopes it helps children notice beauty, choose kindness, and remember that even the smallest light can shine bright.
Values & Knowledge Reinforced
The Jasper series supports character traits schools already teach every day such as:
Kindness
Resiliency
Friendship
Creativity
Confidence
Caring for others
These themes are presented in an encouraging and age-appropriate way that works in school settings. Additionally, in the back of each Jasper book is a field guide with animals and plants to discover in the Smoky Mountains. A resource page will be made available to teachers for coloring and exploration of these regional animals and plants.
Booking Information
I would love to come meet your students and share Jasper with them. If school policy allows and schedules align, Jasper may be able to attend select visits. He is friendly, well-trained, and fully vaccinated. This can be discussed when booking. To check availability, pricing, or to design a visit that fits your school’s schedule, please reach out through the contact page. I’m happy to customize the experience based on group size, timing, and your goals for the visit. Spots fill quickly each semester, so early booking is encouraged!
I heard you read my book… and guess what? The adventure doesn't have to stop there! I put together some really fun activity pages just for you. There are puzzles, coloring pages, a maze to help you find Sparkle, and even a kindness challenge. (Sparkle helped me come up with that one. She's pretty smart for a tiny bug.) The best part? They're completely FREE. Just ask your mom or dad to print them out and let's keep exploring together. Download your free activity pages below!
